Moran on the picket line with frontline Hospital staff in Portlaoise

Aisling took time out of her campaign today to join frontline workers on the protest at Portlaoise General Hospital.

This is no stunt or political bandwagoning - Aisling has been going out on this issue for months prior to the election campaign and has numerous Council motions to her credit on the issue - chronic staffing shortages and unfilled vacancies, recruitment embargoes at a time that the Government maintains it's awash with money is not only poor policy, it's failed policy, it's dangerous policy- dangerous for patients and staff!

The Taoiseach offers sympathy, when what's required is staff. He speaks of The Rain Day Fund - the Rainy Day is here in the health services, they are creaking at the seams.

Aisling knows this first hand. Her wife Fiona quit nursing - as she says herself, she was 'sick of it', the stress and the low pay, no stall and no supports.
